Pagi’s favorite foods are avocados, dried cranberries, and mealworms. She likes to spend time slowly exploring her new exhibit, climbing on small trees, sitting in a nest platform, and foraging for food. Sun bears have long sickle shaped claws that help them break open wood and tree branches. Their tongues are eight to ten inches long and are used to forage for food in tight spaces amongst trees. Sun bears are the smallest member of the bear family and are often mistaken for baby bears. The Oakland Zoo now has three female Sun bears: Ting Ting, Bulan, and Pagi.
