“Dog Day Afternoon” this Saturday in Oakland
This Saturday, Oakland dog hotel Citizen Canine is hosting an outdoor dog-centric festival to raise money for East Bay animal rescue organizations. Tons of local vendors will be there, supplying attendees with treats for both humans and their doggy companions.

Mayor Quan speaks out for redevelopment funding
Clearly, our new mayor is not afraid to go toe-to-toe with her predecessor, Jerry Brown. Time will tell if her appeal produces the intended consequences of saving Oakland’s efforts to redevelop and improve our city. Gov. Brown wants to balance the State budget by eliminating statewide Redevelopment agencies.
