What we are

OaklandSeen is pioneering a new model of media and community engagement to create a platform for issues important to the Oakland community. It is a compelling mix of radio broadcasts, social networks, community news and a group blog with some of Oakland’s most credible voices ready to weigh in on everything from local politics, jobs, education, business and entertainment.

This new model offers the right combination of user-generated content, professional journalism, web-enabled tools and compelling subject matter put diverse Oakland in the center of public policy discussions on key issues, keep policy-makers and public officials accountable, and build community celebration and involvement.

OaklandSeen also produces a weekly radio show, which features news, views and people in the community; perspectives and reports on a range of local issues including housing education, crime and local business; and the latest talk from City Hall.
